BARREN COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) – Gary thompson, 31, lived up to his reputation Monday, interrupting court, claiming he shouldn’t be in jail and needed a doctor.
In court, he pled not guilty to criminal mischief and disorderly conduct charges. And as always, Gary Thompson made his presence known in that courtroom.
Thompson admitted to begging others for money to our cameras in Lexington, and we are told he has since taken his begging ways to western Kentucky. In court, Thompson was removed from the courtroom twice in Barren County for interrupting other proceedings in district court.
Then once in front of a judge for his charges, Thompson asked to be released, claiming his leg injury needed immediate medical attention and said the jail had not allowed him to see a doctor. The judge then denied his request to be released.
We are told Thompson’s latest incident was on Saturday night at the Happy Valley Inn in Barren County.
“He sat there and started cussing and spitting out a bunch of obscenities and stuff and talking about suing,” said one witness near the hotel.
“He started just jumping up and down and shaking his fist at me and everything,” said a woman working at Happy Valley Inn.
Thompson is scheduled to be released from the Barren County Detention Center this Saturday. Thompson’s bond is now at 2,500 dollars cash.
