Kentucky’s House Speaker has his sights on medical marijuana during the 2015 General Assembly.
Greg Stumbo filed a bill today to make it legal for people to smoke marijuana in Kentucky for medical purposes. It requires doctors to be trained before they can prescribe the drug to patients.
Stumbo says the commonwealth would have a strict oversight system in place to make sure prescriptions are not abused.
The legislation comes after Kentucky harvested its first hemp crop in decades.
